These terms govern your use of MealBurn. MealBurn provides general nutrition and fitness estimates—not medical advice—and App Store downloads are also subject to Apple's Standard EULA.
1. Agreement
By downloading, accessing, or using MealBurn, you agree to these Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
MealBurn is licensed through the Apple App Store, not sold. Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA) also applies. These Terms supplement the Standard EULA. If they conflict, the Standard EULA controls to the extent required by Apple or applicable law.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 and old enough to consent to digital services where you live. If you are under the age of legal majority, use MealBurn only with permission and supervision from a parent or guardian.
3. What MealBurn provides
MealBurn helps you record food, water, activity, weight, goals, and progress; view permitted Apple Health information; estimate meals from photos; search third-party food data; schedule local reminders; and use related widgets and Live Activities.
Features may vary by device, region, operating-system version, permission choices, subscription status, and third-party availability.
4. Not medical advice
MealBurn is a general wellness and educational tool. It is not a medical device, healthcare provider, diagnostic service, or substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Do not use MealBurn to make urgent, medication, pregnancy, eating-disorder, pediatric, diabetes, cardiovascular, or other medical decisions. ECG classifications, hypertension events, blood pressure, glucose, oxygen, VO2 max, HRV, calorie budgets, and other health values are displayed or estimated for general information and are not interpreted by MealBurn.
Seek qualified care for health questions and contact local emergency services in an emergency.
5. Estimates and accuracy
Food data, AI recognition, serving sizes, calories, macros, activity burn, goals, trends, and third-party records may be incomplete, delayed, unavailable, or wrong. AI can misidentify food or generate inaccurate results. Open Food Facts is community-maintained. Wearable and HealthKit readings depend on their sources.
Review entries before relying on them, correct mistakes, and use professional advice where accuracy matters. You are responsible for decisions and results arising from your use of MealBurn.
6. Your content and permissions
You retain ownership of photos, notes, names, and other content you provide. You grant MealBurn and its service providers a limited right to process that content only to operate the feature you request, maintain security, comply with law, and as otherwise described in the Privacy Policy and applicable provider terms.
Only submit content you have the right to use. Do not include faces, identity documents, medical records, account credentials, illegal content, or other sensitive or confidential information in AI meal photos or notes. You are responsible for reviewing and maintaining your iOS and Apple Health permission choices.
7. Apple Health
Apple Health integration is optional. Do not intentionally write false or misleading nutrition or water information. If write-back is enabled, verify entries and correct or delete them through MealBurn or the Health app as appropriate.
Revoking access may stop new reads or writes but does not automatically remove existing MealBurn records or Health samples previously written.
8. Advertising
The free or ad-supported version may display ads supplied by Google AdMob and approved partners. Ads may be contextual or, where you have provided required consent and tracking permission, personalized. Advertising choices do not authorize MealBurn to use Apple Health data, meal photos, or private meal records for ads.
Advertisers and linked websites are independent services. Your interaction with them is governed by their own terms and privacy notices.
9. Subscriptions
MealBurn may offer auto-renewable subscriptions for premium or ad-free features. The product, price, billing period, trial or introductory offer, and included features will be shown before purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple Account after confirmation.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled through your Apple Account before renewal. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. You can manage or cancel in Settings > Apple Account > Subscriptions, and use Restore Purchases where offered. Apple handles billing, renewals, price-change notices or consent, cancellations, and refund requests under its rules.
You retain access to paid features for the entitlement period Apple reports to MealBurn. We may change future subscription features, but we will provide purchased service for the paid period as required by law and Apple's terms.
10. Acceptable use
You may use MealBurn only lawfully and for personal use under the applicable license. You must not:
- interfere with the app or its providers, bypass security or usage limits, or extract or misuse API keys;
- scrape, overload, or access third-party services except through MealBurn's intended interface;
- reverse engineer except where applicable law expressly permits it;
- submit malicious, unlawful, infringing, or deceptive material; or
- use MealBurn or its AI features to provide clinical medical advice or for a regulated medical-device purpose.
11. Third-party services and content
MealBurn relies on services and data from Apple, Google Gemini, Google AdMob, and Open Food Facts. Their own terms, licenses, availability, and privacy practices apply. Food-search data may be licensed under the Open Database License and other Open Food Facts content licenses.
We do not control third-party outages, results, ads, websites, or policy changes and are not responsible for third-party content to the extent permitted by law.
12. Ownership
MealBurn, its design, software, branding, and original content are owned by or licensed to MealBurn and protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant only the limited right to use the app under the Standard EULA; no other rights are transferred.
13. Availability and termination
We may update, change, suspend, or discontinue features for security, legal, technical, provider, or product reasons. We may terminate access if you materially violate these Terms. You may stop using MealBurn at any time; uninstalling does not cancel a subscription or delete Health samples already written.
Terms that by their nature should survive—such as ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and third-party terms—remain effective after termination.
14. Disclaimers and liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MealBurn is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of accuracy, reliability, availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MealBurn and its developer will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, loss of data, health or fitness outcomes, lost profits, or damages arising from third-party services or reliance on estimates.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded. The liability terms in Apple's Standard EULA also apply.
